Natalia Balaban

Natalia is leading the advisory work and also coordinates the dispute resolutions activities in the firm.

She has been heading and coordinating an impressive number of cross border transactions including the area of M&A, real estate, restructuring and reorganization.

She was a legal department member of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova since 2007.

Natalia Balaban has been a member of the Moldovan Bar Association since 2010. She leads a remarkable law firm that has been prospering throughout the years in Moldovan law by providing high quality services for both national and international clients. 

Natalia Balaban has been a member of several professional associations, including the European Business Association (EBA) in the Republic of Moldova from 2017 to 2021. She is also an active member of the Association of Women Lawyers in the Republic of Moldova.

Natalia Balaban is a litigator and certified mediator in the Republic of Moldova as well Arbitrator at the Chisinau International Commercial Arbitration Court within AmCham Moldova .

  • Natalia Balaban is actively involved in initiatives aimed at promoting the interests of lawyers and ensuring their training and professional development in the Republic of Moldova.
  • President of the Council of the Lawyers’ Training Center (2022–2024).
  • Member of the Council of the Union of Lawyers of the Republic of Moldova (2021–2024).
  • Member of the working group for creating the regulatory framework in the field of arbitration, established by the Order of the Ministry of Justice No. 184 of July 1, 2024.
  • Member of the working group for monitoring the implementation of the Strategy for Ensuring the Independence and Integrity of the Justice Sector (2022–2025).
  • Member of the Coordination Committee in the EU Project: “Increasing Transparency and Accountability and Access to the Judicial System (ETAAJS)” (2022–2024).
  • Member of the Advisory Committee of the OECD Project: “Supporting the Ministry of Justice and Justice Sector Reforms in the Republic of Moldova.”
  • Initiator and author of the project Digitisation the Union of Lawyers of the Republic of Moldova.

  • Notable achievements:
  • Launched the initiative to improve lawyers’ access to information in digital format and enhance interoperability, during the World Bank meeting in Chisinau on Digital Transformation in the Justice Sector.
  • Played a key role in signing the first partnership agreement between the Lawyers’ Training Center of the Moldovan Bar Association (CIA) and the National Institute for the Training and Improvement of Lawyers (INPPA) in Bucharest on June 14, 2024. This collaboration aims to strengthen relations and promote the professional training of lawyers in both Moldova and Romania, facilitating the exchange of knowledge, experience, and practices between trainers and lawyers.
